Find out what counts as a minor, major, or serious offence at Temasek Secondary School, and what consequences students may face.
There will be consequences for students who misbehave or commit offence/s that contravene the Temasek Creed and/or School Rules.
The school reserves the right to confiscate students’ mobile phones as a disciplinary measure if they contravene the school’s mobile phone regulations or for the purpose of investigation.
The school reserves the right to update the School Rules.
When a student is to be disciplined for a major/serious offence or a series of minor offences, the school will notify the parent/guardian. The decision of the school concerning the consequences is final. Offences may include but are not limited to the following:
MINOR OFFENCES
Improper Appearance (hair, uniform etc.)
Eating or drinking outside the canteen
Littering
Late-coming to school
Possession/consumption of chewing gums
Bringing toys/game consoles/card games to school
Disruptive behaviour or use of vulgarities
Not bringing learning materials
Poor quality/non submission of work
Loitering at/near the teaching blocks during recess
3 Strikes Policy
If a student repeats the same offence 3 times or more, it will be considered as a major offence.
MAJOR OFFENCES
Frequent late-coming to school/reporting to school very late
Bullying/unruly behaviour
Close association with opposite sex/public display of affection
Leaving school premises without permission
Truancy from school/lesson/CCA/school programme
Rude/defiant/uttering vulgarities to staff/student leaders on duty
Cheating in tests/examinations
Meeting or bringing anyone not from the school into school premises without permission
Loitering/being a nuisance in public
ICT Offences
Surfing restricted/prohibited websites
Spamming/introducing viruses or cyber worms
Illegal downloading/sharing of information
Unauthorised use/sharing of user ID/passwords
Publishing undesirable contents/remarks on the internet e.g. blogs, discussion forums, chatrooms, Facebook, Instagram etc.
SERIOUS OFFENCES
Possession of pornographic materials
Smoking/Vaping and/or possession of cigarettes/drugs
Gambling/Theft/Robbery/Extortion/Fighting
Possession of weapons – real or replica
Arson/Vandalism/Damage to school/Public property

The school reserves the right to determine the nature and severity of the consequence/s based on the severity of the incident, past behavioural patterns, as well as the maturity and emotional state of the student in question.
